Admissions

The Salter School of Nursing & Allied Health has an "open enrollment" policy and accepts applications on an ongoing basis.

Applicants must meet the following Criteria for Admission; all required documentation must be submitted to Admissions before the admission process is complete.

  • Completed Application with $25.00 non-refundable application fee.
  • Secondary school transcript or GED certificate with scores.
  • Official transcripts from institutions of higher learning previously attended.
  • Complete the Enrollment Agreement in a meeting with the Admissions department and pay balance on non-refundable enrollment fee of $125.00.
  • A Criminal Offense Record Investigation (CORI) when admitted.
  • Provide 3 passport photos for ID badge and file.

Practical Nursing Applicants must also

  • Pass the TEAS nurse entrance test with a score of 60% in reading and a score of 55% in Math and English language skills
  • Provide documentation of completion of High School Algebra with a B- or better
  • Submit a Resume
  • Provide two confidential recommendations from a healthcare employer or work supervisor which describe your:
    • Competence
    • Work ethic
    • Aptitude for the PN role, including interpersonal/communication skills and reliability
  • Participate in a personal interview.
  • Federal Financial Aid applications must be processed prior to entering a class

Surgical Technology Applicants must also

  • Produce a copy of high school diploma/GED certificate, or sign an attestation of having graduated from a high school program or GED equivalent.
  • Pass a "Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam" with a score of 21.
  • Federal Financial Aid applications must be processed prior to entering a class.
  • Participate in a personal interview

Phlebotomy Program Applicants must also

  • Produce a copy of high school diploma/GED certificate, or sign an attestation of having graduated from a high school program or GED equivalent.
  • Pass a "Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam" with a score of 18.

Locations
